Dar Aminah Book Club Author Event with Huma Qureshi

Join the 12th anniversary celebration of Dar Aminah Book Club with special author event with Huma Qureshi Imrana Mahmood is the founder of Dar Aminah Book Club and will be facilitating the event. Imrana is a Creative Producer committed to redefining the arts scene and passionate about working with communities at a grassroots level, with a particular focus on Global Majority voices. Her previous projects include Beyond Borders and Echoes of the Diaspora, and she was awarded a Developing Your Creative Practice grant by Arts Council England to develop her verbatim play 'A Book Club in Lut is currently the Arts and Culture Project Commissioner for Luton Arts led by Luton Borough Council, preceded by her role as Project Officer for the Hertfordshire Cultural Education Partnership at the University of Hertfordshire - both roles helping to improve access to the arts for underrepresented groups. Imrana is a mother of two and in her spare time enjoys reading, hiking, and watching movies. www.imranamahmood.co.uk Huma Qureshi is the award-winning author of four books, including How We Met: A Memoir of Love and Other Misadventures and the short story collection, Things We Do Not Tell The People We Love, both published in 2021. How We Met was shortlisted for the Books Are My Bag Non-Fiction award, and Things We Do Not Tell The People We Love was longlisted for both The Jhalak Prize and The Edge Hill Short Story Prize. Her first book, In Spite of Oceans, received The John C Laurence Award. Her novel, Playing Games, was published in November 2023 to critical acclaim.
