Full description from organizer

Join Mike James & Rosi Sexton for a hands-on day of practical rehab tips to make recovery simpler and more approachable. Exercise rehabilitation has never had more attention — and yet for many therapists, it has never felt more complicated. More research, more systems, more exercises, more protocols, more opinions. And somewhere along the way, the basics have become harder to see. This one-day workshop is about bringing rehab back to what matters. Drawing on more than 40 years of combined clinical, coaching and rehabilitation experience, Mike and Rosi will demonstrate how everyday therapists can make better exercise and rehabilitation decisions for the everyday patients they actually see – by using the very patients you are struggling with as practical case studies. This is not a day of perfect programmes, complicated periodisation models or endless exercise libraries. It is about learning how to think clearly, simplify the problem and make confident decisions when the patient in front of you does not fit neatly into a protocol. Through practical sessions, group discussion, debate, experimentation and real-world problem solving, we will explore the common challenges therapists face when trying to prescribe and progress rehabilitation: · What should you prioritise? · How much exercise is enough? · When should you progress? · When should you leave progressing a plan alone? · What do you do when someone is not improving? · How do you adapt a programme when time, equipment, confidence, pain or adherence get in the way? · And perhaps most importantly: how do you create rehabilitation that people will actually do? Mike and Rosi will share the lessons, mistakes, principles and practical strategies developed across four decades of working with patients and athletes — while encouraging delegates to challenge ideas, test solutions and share their own experiences. There will be no attempt to give you another recipe book. Instead, the aim is to develop a small number of simple, transferable principles that can be applied across different conditions, patients and clinical settings. Come ready to move, experiment, discuss, challenge and problem-solve. Leave with fewer rules, fewer unnecessary exercises and far more confidence in your ability to manage rehabilitation with the very next patient you see. The aim is simple: Stop making rehab harder than it needs to be.
