Acupressure is a practical hands-on system based on the same traditional meridian and point principles used in acupuncture, but without needles. In this relaxed, practical workshop, you’ll learn how to locate and use a range of useful acupressure points on your own body and how different points are traditionally used to support physical, emotional and energetic balance. We’ll explore: • What acupressure is and how it works • The basic principles of meridians and acupressure points • How to find points accurately on yourself • How much pressure to use and how long to hold a point • Simple points traditionally used for relaxation and stress • Points associated with headaches and muscular tension • Supporting digestion and general wellbeing • Points traditionally used for energy and fatigue • Calming points for emotional balance • Simple point combinations you can use as short self-care routines • How to recognise when a point is tender, active or needs a gentler approach The emphasis will be on practical techniques you can actually remember and use at home, rather than trying to learn hundreds of different points. You’ll practise the techniques during the workshop and leave with a useful selection of acupressure methods you can incorporate into everyday self-care.
