Making Porcelain Christmas Decorations (Sat afternoon)

A guided session creating hand made 'Scandi' porcelain Christmas Decorations This seasonal workshop for all ages, is suitable for both those with and without experience We will use various items, such as lace, leaves, pine branches etc. to print/ impress textures into the porcelain, to create truly individual items. In this 2.5 hour session Tina will give guidance on how to handle the porcelain, which you will roll & cut using your preferred templates. You will then use textures to impress pattern, and tools to trim and tidy. At the end of the workshop you will have six pieces. All materials and tools will be provided and the Kiln-firing & glaze/finish materials are included in the fee. All you need is to wear old clothes & an apron At the end of the workshop your pieces will be : • taken back to Tina's studio to be dried ( +/- 3/4 days) • fired in a kiln 'bisque' firing (24 hours) • a clear glaze applied by Tina • fired again for a 24 hour 'glaze' firing. Overall the process takes approx 2 weeks. Your creations will be available for collection later (at Tina's studio in Shaldon) to be arranged with you on the day. If you need your items to be posted, this will be at extra cost Parking: there are both short and long term car parks in Shaldon, the venue is in the centre of the village within easy walking distance of both car parks.
