Sew a little ‘Scrappy Hen’ - create your calm

Come along & enjoy a session of mindful stitching, story sharing & laughs in this lovely ‘Scrappy Hen’ sewing class. So that's me Clare in the photo (yes I am submerged in scraps), I am ‘cardboard & scraps’ obsessed. I can't bear wasting materials, I'm always cutting things up to repurpose be it in the back of the car, my favourite pub the wych elm or in my home studio in North Kingston. I'm an artist with over 15yrs teaching / art facilitating experience in arts & crafts of all ages (youngest 4, oldest 92 she had the best stories...), I’ve been lucky enough to work in some fabulous places. I have just come back from teaching a small group by the sea in Scotland what a treat. So if you’re an eco lover/hoarder wishing to make like minded creative peeps or learn a new crafting skill come join us for laughs, story telling & creative fun. We'd love to meet you. In our classes: • We nurture imagination • Encourage personal creativity • We supply all materials (some presewn) the rest is up to your wonderful selves • You will be supplied with a choice of pre-sewn chookie bodies (natural wool, brown, red or black felted) along with a selection of beads, feathers, buttons, embroidery threads to make your own hen. Why not add a badge pin or a loop to hang up your wee chookie friend. There will be lots of inspiration available to spring board you if needed. Feel free to come alone, with friends or as a group. Connect with like minded creative peeps or simply shut your thoughts away (like I do) and discover the sheer joy of scrap sewing. You’ll never be able to throw anything away again:) NB: All hand sewing tools are provided but if you'd like to bring your favourite scissors, and needle case please do. Important info on class times: The library is used for other events so classes will finish 11.30 to enable us to clear up.
