Full description from organizer

Join author and botanist Roy Vickery for a talk and walking tour as part of the Canal & River Trusts exhibition "A Canalside Flora". Join us on North Acton Square for a talk and walking tour led by author and botanist Roy Vickery, on the uses and folklore associated with canalside and urban plants. These events accompany our open air exhibition A Canalside Flora , taking place in North Acton Square. The exhibition features prints and poetry depicting plants that can be found along London's canals and exploring our relationship with urban nature. 11:30-12:00: A Canalside Flora: Roy will talk about the plants that are depicted in the exhibition with a focus on the historical uses of canalside plants. 13:00 - 13:45: Pavement Plants: Our Green Neighbours: Join Roy on a guided walk of the neighbourhood, looking at the plants you perhaps never thought to notice. Please Note: the talk and walking tour are ticketed separately. Please book for each one if you would like to attend both. We are thrilled to have Roy Vickery leading these events which will be a fascinating insight into folk history relating to canalside and urban plants. He has been collecting and writing about the folklore and traditional uses of plants for many years.
