Grief Cafe, Walthamstow

A supportive space to share, listen and connect with others around grief. Our Grief Cafe is a welcoming and supportive place where people can come together to share and discuss their experiences of grief and loss and connect with others who understand. It is open to those aged 18 and over. We know that grief can, at times, feel isolating, so attending a Grief Cafe and sharing experiences and feelings with others can help reduce feelings of loneliness. Also, hearing diverse stories and perspectives on grief can help us make sense of our own loss and grief. We might learn new or different coping strategies and ways of navigating the grieving process. At our Grief Cafes, we sit in small groups so it’s easy to talk, or just listen, and each group has a ‘table host’ to ensure everyone can participate in the way they wish to. It’s important to note that our Grief Cafe isn't therapy or an educational session. It is simply a place for people to gather, share, listen, and support each other. Whatever your grief, and whether the person died recently, some time ago, or the death is anticipated, you are very welcome to join us. Everyone is welcome: We aim to create a space where people of all sexualities, genders, cultures, and backgrounds feel safe and respected. Booking and Donations: Our Grief Cafe is offered free of charge, but we ask that, where possible, you make a donation when booking. Your contribution, however much you are able to give, helps us to provide these welcoming and supportive spaces for people experiencing grief and loss. Our Grief Cafe is run voluntarily, and we currently do not receive any funding to cover the costs of running these sessions. Every donation, whatever the amount, is greatly appreciated and helps us keep the Grief Cafe going. When booking, we encourage you to choose the ‘Pay What You Can – Donation’ option and give whatever feels comfortable for you. If you are unable to donate, please choose the ‘Free Place - No Donation’ option. We want everyone to be able to attend, regardless of their circumstances.
