Present Here

Present Here is an experimental photographic and installation project bringing together photographs and writing fragments from three years of living in and leaving South-East London. Over three years, Vincent Zhensheng Lian made nearly 2,000 photographs of the places, landscapes and everyday moments around him in Lewisham and Greenwich, without a predetermined theme. Before leaving the UK, he initiated this project by selecting nearly 400 photographs and writing fragments from his phone album and journal, to be presented across a range of local cultural and community spaces. The project takes different forms at different venues, exploring how a personal archive can become a space for shared experiences and connections through photographic installations and an artist’s book. At hARTslane, a 40-metre-long strip of 400 photographs and writing fragments runs around the gallery walls. The artist will be in attendance during exhibition days.
