Introduction to Knitting at The Odney Club

Spend a calm autumn morning learning to knit on the banks of the Thames — an unhurried, absorbing couple of hours just for yourself! There's something quietly magical about Odney in autumn — the mist lifting off the Thames, leaves drifting past the lawns, the kind of stillness that makes you want to slow right down. Join us for a relaxed three-hour session and learn to knit from scratch, no experience needed. Everything you need — premium KnitPro needles, soft quality yarn, an In the Loop tote bag, a Handmade with Love tag, and a Knitting Reference Guide — comes in your very own Loop Kit, yours to take home. There's real science behind why this setting works so well. The repetitive, rhythmic motion of knitting has been shown to lower cortisol and ease the mind into a calm, focused state — not unlike meditation. Pair that with Odney's riverside quiet, and you've got the perfect reset: hands busy, mind still, the Thames drifting by outside the window. By the end of the morning, you'll have the basics of knitting under your belt and — we promise — a much slower heart rate than when you arrived. 📍 Odney Club, Cookham · 📅 Saturday 31st October 2026 · 🕒 10:00am – 1:00pm · 💷 £50 per person, fully inclusive Spaces are limited to keep the session intimate — book early to secure your seat.
