Percussion collaborative composition workshop

Just show up, open your ears, and let something unexpected happen. No musical experience needed. No auditions. Just show up, open your ears, and let something unexpected happen. No musical experience needed. No auditions. A drum circle - but a drum circle with a difference. Will’s percussion workshop brings a room together to co-create a rhythmic composition from scratch. You’ll be guided first to connect and attune to each other, the space, the sounds. From there you’ll learn to access your full creative potential - building something that requires concentration, trust and surrender in equal measure. The word for what you’ll create is an ostinato - a looping pattern born from collective consciousness. It sounds technical. It isn’t. It just means listening deeply, synchronising, and giving yourself over to the meditative qualities of rhythm. Attendees have fun, laugh a lot, and find deep satisfaction in creating something together. Many say they wish to integrate this type of meditation into their regular practice. Come and find out why. What to expect: A guided [x]-hour session building a unique ensemble composition from the ground up. Connection, creativity, and something genuinely magical by the end. What not to expect: Judgement. Any prior experience being necessary. A drum circle that feels like a drum circle. Our Community Rules By coming to Gather, you’re agreeing to move toward these. None of us will get it perfect every time. What matters is that we keep trying. 🤝 Show up present. Phones away, mind in the room. 🔓 Come open. Willing to try, willing to sound a bit strange. 💛 Be kind. To the person next to you, to Will holding it all together, to yourself. 🏠 No stage, no crowd. Everyone here is part of it - not watching it. ✨ Present, not perfect. The connection matters more than the notes. 🫂 This is community. Many into one.
