Pottery Throw Down at The Pavilion, Gathering Ground [Hillsborough Park] Watch the experts (from The Northern Potters Association) demonstrate how to throw a variety of pots, then jump in and have a go! No experience required. Total beginners are very welcome. The event is designed to give you a fun introduction to throwing pots. Awards will be given for the the best, funniest and most bizzare pots thrown. The end products will not be fired, so there is no pressure and the clay will be recycled for future use. A relaxed and fun evening for anyone. We have 8 potters wheels and you will be working in small group of 3 to 4. You will have plenty of time to have numerous goes. There will be food and drink and an opportunity to chat throughout the event. There will be free welcome drink waiting for you on entry, a buffet will be available throughout the event to snack on and we will have a fully licensed bar. Aprons will be provided but things could get messy, so dress appropriately (wear things you don't mind getting clay on)! The Northern Potters Association and the Northern Potters Association South East are generously and expertly leading the event and will have a ceramics stall at the event.
