Ignite Social: October - Legacy in Motion

Come along any 2nd Thursday of the month to meet new people and hear talks on creative & cultural topics • What: Friendly get together, with bar and talks from interesting creative speakers • Where: Patch Places, 5 - 6, Gray's Yard, Springfield Rd, Chelmsford CM2 6QR • When: 7-10pm, every 2nd Thursday of the month • Who: No prior knowledge of the topics is needed, and everyone is welcome! Topic: In celebration of Black History Month, we're collaborating with B.A.B.E - Black and Being Essex; a not-for-profit organisation for Black people in Essex, to showcase local Black creatives. We'll be joined by B.A.B.E's founder, Preen Chakadonha, who will hold an 'in conversation with...' the following guest; Zenab Bukkar - Zenab Bukkar is an Essex-based, multidisciplinary artist, writer, facilitator, and founder of The Crook’d Smile Programme. Their practice moves between movement, spoken word, storytelling, youth work, and creative facilitation, exploring identity, femininity, belonging, and lived experience. Zenab will also be performing. Preen Chakadonha is a Knowledge Manager and Director of Black and Being Essex CIC (B.A.B.E for short.) She is also on the Board of Trustees for Metal Culture Charity. When she is not juggling multiple hats, she can be found reading, writing and watching far too much TV and movies.
