A.K. Blakemore in conversation with Samuel Fisher

A.K. Blakemore will be discussing her new novel, 'Doom Painting,' with fellow author Samuel Fisher at the Blue Boar. We're so pleased to welcome back award-winning author, A.K. Blakemore, to Maldon this October, for an evening discussion on her new book, 'Doom Painting,' with Samuel Fisher. Both authors' books will be available to purchase at the event. About Doom Painting The sixteen days of the Peasant's Revolt, when new versions of England were born under the charismatic leader Wat Tyler, brought to life in a dazzlingly inventive novel by the author of The Manningtree Witches. It is 1381. England, reeling from plague and years of conflict abroad, is a tinderbox waiting to spark. Two childhood friends ride into the town of Brentwood, Essex, where they come upon an altercation with a local Justice bent on squeezing more coin from the masses. About A.K. Blakemore A.K. BLAKEMORE’s The Manningtree Witches won the Desmond Elliott Prize, was shortlisted for the Costa First Novel Award, and was a Waterstones Book of the Month. Her second novel The Glutton was shortlisted for the Dylan Thomas Prize. She is the author of two full-length collections of poetry and has also translated the work of Sichuanese poet Yu Yoyo.
