Join the River Park Archaeologists for a unique opportunity to take part in this latest public archaeological excavations at Methil Mill. This hands-on event invites members of the public to help uncover and explore the remains of Methil Mill, an important local heritage site. Working alongside professional archaeologists, you’ll learn about excavation techniques, recording finds, and the history of the site—no previous experience required. Whether you’re curious about archaeology, interested in local history, or simply want to try something different, this is a chance to get involved and contribute to real archaeological research. No prior archaeological experience is necessary—just enthusiasm and suitable outdoor clothing.Please wear sturdy footwear and weather-appropriate clothing, as this is an outdoor activity. Parking may be limited, so please plan accordingly. We will all meet here for a brief health and safety talk and to go over important information before we all walk down to site together.
