Chippenham Town Circular Cycle ride - a FREE cycle ride

FREE circular cycle ride in Chippenham particularly suited for adults who are beginners, improving, or returning to cycling. Chippenham Town Circular ride is a FREE cycle ride exploring a circular route through the town using a combination of quieter back streets and off road connections, some newly opened. The majority is on quieter streets with a half way stopping point point near Derriards pond for free refreshments. The ride is part of the Big Bike Revival, and is particularly suitable for adults who are beginners, improving, or returning to cycling. Families are welcome to join us. Under 18s require a responsible adult. • Approximately two hours, partly on quieter roads and partly on shared cycle paths Points of interest:- • Reel Cinema • Ivy Lane School, St Peters School, Sheldon School, Hardenhuish School • M&S, TK Maxx, Aldi shops. Highlight onward route to Corsham. • Highlight route to Sainsburys & Morrisons • Hathaway medical centre. Highlight route to B&M, Wickes, Bumpers Farm • Donkey Fields & Chippenham Sports Centre The ride takes approximately two hours and utilises quieter roads and cycle links featured on the newly updated Chippenham Cycle Map. Due to uncertainty on the timings of new crossings being constructed (and it's the first time we've cycled this circular route) we've included the option of a shortcut in the final ride section. The ride is guided by Cycle Chippenham volunteers and has been risk assessed. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult and ideally in a one adult to child ratio. As part of the Big Bike Revival grant criteria we will collect as a minimum a name and email address from adults at the ride event.
