Redruth Green Library Hub is holding its first community beach clean. Join Tamsyn & Katy from the Redruth Library team for a beach clean at Portreath Beach. We'd love you to join us for some fresh air while taking positive environmental action in our community. All equipment will be provided, and everyone is welcome. Please book a place for everyone attending, children under 18 years of age must be supervised by an adult. Meet us at 10:30 in the beach car park (top of the steps by the ice cream serving hatch). Contact Katy or Tamsyn for more information [email protected] / 0300 1234 111. This event is part of the Redruth Library & Information Service Green Library. The Green Library Hubs project is a 3-year project, funded by The National Lottery Community Fund and led by CILIP to support libraries and their users to take climate action in their communities. It is delivered in partnership with the British Library, Julie’s Bicycle and CAG Consultants along with 10 public libraries. Site Area This beach clean will focus on the area of Portreath Beach, and will last 1—1.5 hours. Friendly, quiet dogs are welcome, but we ask they are kept on a short lead throughout. What will we provide? We'll provide the beach cleaning kit, including gloves, alcohol hand gel, bin bags and pickers (for those who want them) and hi vis. A health and safety briefing will take place before heading onto the shore. Photo permission forms will be made available for people who would like to be included in group photos. There are steps down to the beach, but there is an alternative access point, just off the road towards the surf lifesaving club.
