Live at Eaton: Transforming Nanyang coffee brewing into a sensory ritual of migration. 逸東現場藝術祭：以傳統「拉咖啡」工藝為現場儀式，在咖啡香氣中共織移民與生活記憶。 Nanyang Kopi - Brew Performance 南洋咖啡 - 沖泡演出 Jeffrey JC Lim 林猷進 (Malaysia) A workshop performance by JC Lim following a coffee brewing method learned from her aunt’s Hainanese coffee heritage, utilizing local Nanyang-style coffee grounds and traditional brewing equipment. Through storytelling, Lim draws parallels between the transmigration of coffee culture and his own lineage, weaving narratives of migration and refuge across physical and imagined realms. Attendees are invited to participate by bringing their own heirloom or favorite coffee/tea cup and saucer set. 一場由林猷進主導的工作坊展演。透過邊沖煮邊述說故事，林猷進於咖啡文化的遷徙與自身的家族血脈之間建立平行對照，深入探討在實體與想像空間之間關於移動、離散與庇護的敘事。歡迎參加者攜帶自己珍藏的家傳或心愛之咖啡/茶杯碟套裝一同參與體驗。 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Presented by Eaton HK, Live at Eaton is a new contemporary performance festival expanding the boundaries of performance in Hong Kong. Beyond mainstream theatre and dance, it treats performance as a tool for knowledge production and community building—merging choreography, materiality, research, lived experience, and identity. Festival Theme: Daily Practice: Staging Self, Objects, and Others Initiated by co-directors Tang Fukuen and Joseph Chen, the inaugural edition examines the labor, habits, and rituals of daily life as performative acts. It explores how repetitive actions shape selfhood, body-material relations, and social conditions. This edition proposes an experimental "workshop performance" format, blending interactive education with live art where collective learning becomes a creative, critical, and communal experience.
