Stylish, suspenseful and visually inventive, the film sweeps from the bustling streets of New York to the open sea before arriving at one of cinema's most unforgettable finales. Welles stars as Michael O'Hara, an Irish sailor who becomes entangled in the lives of wealthy lawyer Arthur Bannister and his enigmatic wife Elsa, played by Rita Hayworth. What begins as a chance encounter soon draws O'Hara into a web of intrigue, betrayal and deadly consequences. Renowned for its striking imagery, sharp humour and dreamlike atmosphere, The Lady from Shanghai showcases the magnetic on-screen chemistry between Welles and Hayworth. Combining noir tension with moments of romance and dark comedy, this landmark film remains one of the most distinctive and influential thrillers of its era. "Outrageous and dreamlike - A whirling thing of wonder, Welles's brilliant, brash noir moves from city to sea, courtroom to hall of mirrors, crackling with chemistry between him and Hayworth" - The Guardian FIXITY is a project formed by multi-instrumentalist and composer Dan Walsh in 2015, based around the impossibility of repeated moments. "...defined by its disregard for parameters. Few Irish artists push the invisible parameters of sonic exploration quite like Walsh” - Brian Coney, The Thin Air "The Things In The Room is a deep experience" “Fixity’s world is one where grooves, rock & roll, noise, motorik, and free jazz all coexist.” - Tristan Bath, The Quietus “...one of Ireland’s most formidable experimental/ improvisational outfits” - Eoin Murray, The Quietus https://fixity.bandcamp.com/ See you there!
