Alliance Française Auckland 130th Anniversary | One Night to Celebrate

Come and celebrate the 130th anniversary of Auckland’s French cultural centre! ✨ 130 years of French language, culture and connection in Auckland Founded in 1896, Alliance Française Auckland has spent 130 years bringing people together through the French language, Francophone cultures and unforgettable shared experiences. On Saturday 21 November 2026, we invite you to join us in the magnificent Grand Foyer of Auckland Museum for a landmark anniversary celebration. Step into an elegant and immersive evening where history comes to life through music, dance and performance. From your arrival to the final note, the evening will celebrate the people, cultures, friendships and partnerships that have shaped Alliance Française Auckland across generations. More than an anniversary, this is a celebration of our community and the enduring cultural connection between Aotearoa New Zealand and the Francophone world. Your era. Your look. Your story. Your journey through time begins the moment you purchase your ticket. Each guest will be assigned a period between 1896 and 2026 and invited to dress in a costume or outfit inspired by their era. From the elegance of the Belle Époque to the bold styles of the 1920s, 1960s or 1980s, your assigned period will become your inspiration for the evening. And the best part? You won’t know your era until after you book. To help bring your look to life, we are delighted to partner with First Scene, Auckland’s costume and party hire specialist. Alliance Française Auckland members will receive 10% off costume hire when presenting a valid membership card. Further information about your assigned period, costume inspiration and the evening’s programme will be shared after booking. One night. 130 years. A journey through time. And a few surprises along the way. Event details Saturday 21 November 2026 Grand Foyer, Auckland Museum 6:30pm – 10:30pm
