Between Worlds

We all want to feel like we belong and that we can contribute to a healthy, thriving community. But for many young people from migrant and refugee backgrounds, navigating Aotearoa’s alcohol and drug culture can come with challenges and our experiences can often be overlooked. Generational and cultural differences can make it difficult to have open conversations about these topics, which can impact our wellbeing, relationships and sense of belonging. This event is an opportunity to listen, share and learn from each other. There are no lectures and no judgement, only honest conversations about the realities of our experiences and what we can do to support healthier communities. What to expect: 🎤 A panel exploring alcohol, drugs, culture and lived experience. 🎨 A creative workshop where you can channel your inner world and express things that can sometimes be difficult to put into words. 💬 Conversations that lift the lid on alcohol drugs and space for different perspectives. 🍲 Good food and the chance to make some new friends. 📲 Follow @vocalroots_ on Instagram for event updates.
