2026 Edition - Speak Dating for European Day of Languages in Wellington

Celebrate the European Day of Languages with a unique Speak Dating evening in New Zealand! To celebrate the 2026 European Day of Languages, join us on the 25th of September for a "Speak Dating" event, organised by the EUNIC Cluster New Zealand, as a collective initiative. The concept 👉 At each table, you’ll meet and chat to someone from a different European country: Germany, France, Spain, Poland, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands and Switzerland. Try a few words in the language, ask questions, and discover unique traditions and stories. After a few minutes, you’ll move on to the next country - a whirlwind tour of Europe in one night! This event is designed for everyone, from complete beginners to those already learning a language. The evening will also include a tasting of European specialties and the chance to win an exciting prize. To ensure everyone is safe and can enjoy the event without discomfort, we reserve the right to refuse entry or evict any patrons that are, or appear, intoxicated/under the influence of drugs or exhibit disorderly behaviour, fail to comply with security or venue staff requests, attempt to bring in prohibited items, use obscene or abusive language, are verbally or physically abusive, or behave in a disorderly or offensive manner.
