A curator-led journey created by Afrika Infinity and Ninoiarte, connecting African heritage with contemporary art in Lisbon. Discover African art through an intimate curator-led journey across two neighbouring galleries in Lisbon. Secrets of the African Soul: African Art & Heritage is a signature cultural experience jointly created by Afrika Infinity and Ninoiarte. Over approximately two hours, participants explore how African artistic traditions, cultural memory and contemporary creation connect across generations. The experience begins at Afrika Infinity, a specialist African art and cultural heritage gallery. Through selected masks, sculptures, textiles, cultural objects and reference books, participants are introduced to the histories, symbolism, materials and artistic traditions associated with the cultures represented in the gallery’s collection. The journey then continues just a few steps away at Ninoiarte, a contemporary art gallery where participants discover how artists connected to Africa and its diaspora engage with identity, memory, heritage and present-day experience through contemporary artistic expression. Guided through storytelling, conversation and close observation of selected artworks, this is not a conventional museum tour. It is an intimate and welcoming encounter designed to encourage questions, dialogue and a deeper understanding of the cultural contexts behind the art.
