A one-day gathering for engineering leaders working on online services in games. Now back for it's fifth event, the Online Services Summit brings together backend and online engineers from studios across Europe to talk through what's hard right now, what's changing, and what people are doing about it. Previous editions have included teams from Ubisoft, Massive, Bulkhead, Epic, Unity, Arrowhead and Mediatonic, among others. What to expect The day mixes keynotes, fireside chats, panels and roundtables, with plenty of time between sessions to talk. No sales pitches, no vendor hall. Just people who build and run online games comparing notes. Topics typically cover things like live service architecture, matchmaking and lobbies, scaling for launch, player data and telemetry, cross-platform accounts, cost and infrastructure, and the organisational side of running online teams.
