This fun and welcoming class is open to all levels. Angie will teach burlesque posturing, movement and choreography, including the iconic bumps and grinds that burlesque is known for as well as struts, shimmies and more. All levels are welcome, no dance or burlesque experience is necessary and modifications for all movement will be provided. This class is a fun and exciting way to experience the rich art form of Burlesque and learn about it’s history! _____________________________________ 💃 ABOUT ANGIE PONTANI: Angie Pontani is one of the top burlesque dancers in the world, having won The Miss Exotic World Title as well as having performed with Lady Gaga, Snoop Dogg and many more. She holds residences in both NYC and Las Vegas and has appeared in film and television as well as consulted on GYPSY on Broadway. Angie is the co-host of Showing Off! The weekly podcast that features casual interviews with people who work in the business of show. _____________________________________ 💃 WHAT TO BRING AND WEAR: • Wear comfortable clothes that you can move around in • The gym has a no outdoor shoe policy, so you can dance in socks or bring a pair of clean shoes • Bring a water bottle. The gym has a filtered water station where you can refill _____________________________________ 💃 A NOTE FROM ANGIE! I just wanted to give you a heads up that the class will be filmed for a forthcoming documentary that has been following me and my family for several years. You may have seen their work in the Lady Gaga documentary 5’2 where they feature my daughter’s baptism! Filming that project is where we met them and they have been filming my family ever since, following us on the road with shows as well as at home here in Marine Park. The documentary should be released in 2027, but they have expressed the desire to shoot this class for inclusion in the film. They are very low-key and non-intrusive,, one camera one sound person. If you do not want to be on camera, just let us know and you will absolutely not be included in any footage! But they are a great team and shoot in a beautifully cinematic fashion, I am so excited that they will be there to capture class in the amazing space that is Brooklyn Strength Club.
