Full description from organizerShow less
Join us for our Visual Voices Educational Program Led by Kash Gaines, this workshop introduces participants to street photography as a tool for observation, storytelling, and human connection. Through discussion, demonstrations, and guided shooting exercises, participants will learn how to navigate public spaces with confidence while developing a personal photographic voice. Rather than focusing solely on technical camera skills, the workshop emphasizes curiosity, empathy, and learning to recognize meaningful moments unfolding in everyday life. About the Instructor: Kash is the founder of YAK Films, a global media crew covering street dance throughhigh-quality photography and videography. After a viral video with local crew Turf Feinzlaunched their work, YAK expanded to capture worldwide dance battles, emerging music, and striking visual storytelling. Co-founder Kash—a dancer, host, filmmaker, and photographer—travels globally to document new dance styles, photograph street culture, and host the "Yak Like You Know" (YLYK) show. YAK Films brings underground dance culture and vivid local visuals to a rapidly growing global audience.
