Appreciating the Virtues of the Autumn Garden: Lecture and Walk

Appreciate the fall garden with Vincent Simeone as he highlights landscape plants with extraordinary late season appeal. Autumn is one of the best times to appreciate the garden. While it usually represents a time of harvest and putting the garden to rest, many landscapes continue to beam with color. This lecture followed by a walking tour of the Landcraft Garden will offer practical information on how to select exceptional landscape plants offering interesting fall foliage, fruit and bark interest as well as striking fall flowers. Both herbaceous and woody plants will be highlighted as well as fall blooming broadleaved evergreens. Light refreshments to be served. VINCENT SIMEONE has worked in public horticulture for 38 years at Planting Fields Arboretum State Historic Park in New York where he is currently the Director. He received an AAS degree in ornamental horticulture from SUNY Farmingdale, a BS in ornamental horticulture from the University of Georgia, and a master’s degree in public administration from CW Post. Vincent studied under well-known professors Dr. Michael Dirr and Dr. Allan Armitage.
