Building 3-5 Math Proficiency: Strategies for Multiplication & Division

Build 3-5 math proficiency! Get a strategy playbook to move students beyond algorithms toward flexible thinking and higher test scores. How do we help students transition from additive thinking to the complex world of multiplicative reasoning? This workshop provides a comprehensive look at the progression of multiplication and division across the 3–5 landscape. We will dive deep into the Concrete-Representation-Abstract (CRA) model (also recognized as CSA) and the 5 Mathematical Representations to ensure students aren't just memorizing facts and procedures, but building a deep-rooted conceptual understanding of multiplication and division computation. By mapping these models directly to the Indiana Academic Standards, participants will learn how to identify exactly where a student’s understanding is breaking down—from early arrays to long division. We will use the progression of learning to design targeted, Tier 1 instruction and high-impact interventions that move students forward, ensuring proficiency for every learner at every tier. Cancellation Policy Cancellations made before the payment settles (usually within 24 hours) will be 100% refunded. Cancellations made 7 calendar days or more in advance of the event date, will receive a 90% refund. Cancellations made less than 7 days of the event will receive a 75% refund. Any cancellation made on the day of or after will NOT receive a refund. In-Person Events Please note this event will be held in person.
