Language for Effective Teacher Feedback

Learn key characteristics of language coaches and leaders can use to provide effective feedback. About this event: The language we use has the power to support and motivate teachers to be reflective and learning-oriented. This session will provide teacher leaders, coaches, department chairs, and administrators key characteristics of language we can use when providing feedback. Effective feedback honors the work teachers are already doing and assumes positive presuppositions about their decisions. We will learn: • key language moves and frameworks for effective teacher feedback • strategies to ensure we provide opportunities for teachers to own the feedback and decision-making • the importance of building on strengths in feedback conversations Join this workshop to learn how to lean into these principles and learn how to frame feedback in ways that both honor the teacher and their decision-making as we work to move practice forward. Who should attend: Instructional Coaches, Leaders, Team Leads, PLC Leaders, and anyone else with the opportunity to engage in reflective feedback conversations. --- ESC and CIESC Member Discounts Is your school district a member of CIESC or another ESC in Indiana? Pay via Invoice If you need to pay for your registration via invoice, you may do so by selecting your ticket and then choosing the invoice option at check out. Invoices will be sent to the Accounts Payable contact on file for your organization upon completion of the event. If you are submitting a purchase order or need to update your organization's billing contact, please contact Maddy Storz ([email protected]). Cancellation Policy Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours prior to the event. You must cancel your registration and request a refund via Eventbrite. If you selected pay by invoice, an invoice will not be issued. If you selected pay by credit card, a refund for the ticket price minus Eventbrite fees will be issued back to the original form of payment. The refund may take up to 7-10 business days to process. Any cancellations or no-shows on the day of the event or after will NOT receive a refund. Registrations may be transferred to another staff member in your school/district. In the case of unforeseen circumstances (such as inclement weather or situations beyond our control), alternative arrangements will be considered.
