WPWMA Tour | Thursday October 29, 2026

Sign up to attend a tour of the Western Placer Waste Management Authority (WPWMA)'s Materials Recovery Facility (MRF). Join us for a tour of the Western Placer Waste Management Authority (WPWMA) facilities and see firsthand how we sort recyclables at our advanced Materials Recovery Facility (MRF), how we compost green waste, and how we safely process hazardous waste. Our knowledgeable staff will guide you through the process (including explaining how the state-of-the-art sorting equipment works) and answer all your questions. These general public tours are designed for individuals and groups smaller than 10. If you are interested in a business/organization, a larger group tour, or a school tour, please request one by submitting the appropriate form on our website. Learn more about WPWMA Tours (& what to expect) on our website. WPWMA Tours are walking tours that are approximately one mile in length and include several sets of stairs. Please be aware that this is a working industrial facility and may not be an ideal space for those who are sensitive to loud noises, dust, or tight spaces.
