Full description from organizer

Through a hands-on exploration of herbs, participants will have the chance to touch, smell, taste, & create their own warming tea blends. Cultivating Warmth: An Ayurvedic Winter Workshop with Anjali Deva Winter invites us to slow down, turn inward, and find ways to nourish ourselves through the colder, darker months. Ayurveda, India's traditional healing system, offers a seasonal approach to wellbeing that helps us understand how environmental changes affect our digestion, energy, and overall health. In this interactive two-hour workshop, we will explore Ayurvedic principles for winter, focusing on agni, our digestive fire, and the importance of cultivating warmth from within. Together, we will learn about warming herbs and spices traditionally used in Ayurveda to support digestion, circulation, and seasonal balance. Through a hands-on exploration of herbs, participants will have the opportunity to touch, smell, taste, and create their own warming tea blends. We will close with a guided mindful tea meditation, inviting us to slow down, connect with our senses, and consider how simple daily rituals can support our well-being. All are welcome. No prior knowledge of Ayurveda is necessary. Anjali Deva is an Ayurvedic practitioner, educator and writer in the mountains of Southern California. Her private practice, Rooted Rasa, specializes in an integrative and trauma-informed approach to Ayurveda. Anjali founded Mādhya Way, a school for Ayurveda. She is the co-author of “From Stressed Out to Stress Wise” published in July 2023. Her compassion-based approach is useful in alleviating anxiety, depression, PTSD, digestive disorders, and women’s health issues with a holistic framework. Anjali has been greatly fortunate to have been introduced to Ayurveda and Yoga at a young age by her father and mentor, Arun Deva. Her clinical experience began at Hope Integrative Psychiatry overseen by Omid Naim, MD. Her familial lineage is rich with the desire to preserve and maintain these healing arts. Driven by her aspiration to better understand the connection between food and mood, she has trained with Kerala Ayurveda Academy, Loyola Marymount’s Yoga and the Healing Sciences Program, and with various teachers both in the United States and India. Her strong passion for digestion and mental health provides others with a holistic approach to find their inner harmony and resilience for healing. Anjali is dedicated to sharing the Wisdom of Ayurveda for the benefit of all living beings.
