Clothes Mending Workshop

Learn a new skill, save money, and help the planet in this 3-hour textile mending class. With clothes designed to fall apart and be replaced, learning how to mend your favorite garments keeps them out of the landfills longer while saving you money. You’ll learn the basics of mending, both on woven and knit fabric, by hand stitching or by machine. Hand sewing experience is helpful, but not required. You are encouraged to bring your own item of clothing in need of repair, but fabric for mending samples is provided. About the instructor: Jillian Carrozza graduated from The Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC, as well as Central Saint Martins in London, UK, specializing in fashion design with knitwear. With a passion for textiles, she has worked in costuming, window displays, home décor, consulting and quality assurance. She is happy to bring her 25 years of sewing experience into teaching.
