Learn to finish your edges with a serger, bringing your sewing skills to the next level. In this class, we will demystify the serger, also called an overlock machine, used to finish off professional-quality seams. We will help you become comfortable with the stitches of basic sergers, performing a range of tasks using two, three or four threads to make ending seams and rolled hems. We’ll practice on cotton and knit fabrics. You will leave the class with a serged standard-size cotton pillowcase, and will be well on your way to learning how to use this versatile and fun machine. Factory 3 will supply fabric and sergers, or you may bring your own.
