Fundamentals of Gluten-Free Baking

Pick up smart tips and techniques for creating satisfying gluten-free baked goods. Hands-on. You’ll work with a small team during class. Age Restrictions For ages 13 & up Description Finally! Achieve the rolls, biscuits, cakes, and cookies you love and crave, without the gluten. During class, we’ll unlock key gluten-free baking techniques to achieve the delicious tastes and textures you crave in baked goods. Get to know ingredients like psyllium husk, create your own tangzhong (sometimes known as “water roux”), a technique used in creating a fluffy, hydrated texture in Japanese milk breads. You’ll also create your own all-purpose gluten-free flour blend—and understand the functions of each of the elements that go into it. Note that while this class is focused on gluten-free ingredients and baking techniques, the class does not take place in a gluten-free baking facility, so please keep that in mind if you have a severe gluten allergy. You will be working in a small group. For ages 13 and up. Children 13 - 17 must be accompanied by an adult. Each attendee must purchase a ticket.
