Under Friedl’s Wing (6pm)

The children’s barracks at Theresenshadt is an unusual place to find joy, but then Friedl Dicker-Brandeis was an unusual artist. With only scraps of paper scavenged in the camp, a few painting supplies from home and one small window out of the barracks, Friedl opened a space for children to find moments of reprieve and creative inspiration in otherwise terrifying circumstances. ”Under Friedl’s Wing” - a puppet and painted object play with music and audience art making returns to Manny’s before its European Tour in April of 2027. "With childlike wisdom, Under Friedl’s Wing tells a harrowing story using the simplest of means. Like Friedl Dicker-Brandeis herself, Jennifer Levine and Jeff Raz understand that love, hope, and bearing witness are far more powerful and enduring than destruction.” Created and performed by Jennifer Levine Directed by Jeff Raz Vocals by Diana Naparst Accordion by Brad Friedman Perks for Paid Tickets • Show your ticket at the Cafe bar to receive • 18% off beer, wine, cocktails, and non-alcoholic cocktails. • Offer valid only for paid ticket holders.
