Pelvic Steam Ceremony: A Women's Circle in Scottsdale

A small women's circle with a guided herbal pelvic steam, live sound, and meditation at Harumi Yoga in Scottsdale. Limited to eight. For thousands of years, women have gathered to steam together in Southeast Asia, Central America, and across the African continent, passed between mothers and daughters and aunties as both medicine and rite. This is a small circle rooted in that tradition. You will receive a guided herbal pelvic steam, also called a yoni steam, while I tend the room with meditation and live sound. We move through the history and benefits of the practice, then make space for optional journaling and sharing, and close with song. The atmosphere is unhurried, grounded, and warm. If you are new to steaming, this is a good place to begin. If you already have a practice, the circle deepens it. How the afternoon unfolds We begin by learning what pelvic steaming is, where it comes from, and what it can offer the body at any stage of life. Then you settle in for a 10 minute guided herbal steam. Afterward there is time for journaling and optional sharing. There is no pressure to speak. We close with song and a quiet moment before returning to the day. What is provided A handcrafted cedar pine sauna box, freshly prepared medicinal herbal steam tea, blankets and bolsters, and a nourishing snack. What to wear A long, loose dress or skirt that is easy to wear while sitting on the sauna box, plus socks or slippers. Underpants are removed during steaming, so go without or plan to take them off. What to bring A bath towel and hand towel, a journal and pen, a hot pad, and a stainless steel 2 to 4 quart pot (no aluminum or non-stick). Please note Pelvic steaming is not recommended during active pregnancy or menstruation. If either applies, you are warmly welcome to join the meditation and circle without steaming.
