Youth Mental Health First Aid Training

Learn how to support friends and family struggling with mental health at our Adult Mental Health First Aid Training! Welcome to the Youth Mental Health First Aid Blended Training. This course teaches adults how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health or substance use challenges in young people. The blended format gives participants flexibility by combining required online pre‑work with an in‑person instructor session. Join us at the Virginia Beach Central Library on Monday, November 24, 2026, beginning at 10:00 AM for the in‑person portion of the course. Before attending, participants must complete the required online pre‑work, which takes about two hours and is completed at your own pace. The in‑person portion lasts until 4:30 PM, providing approximately five and a half hours of live instruction, discussion, and skills practice. Participants may bring their own snacks and food. You are welcome to eat throughout the training, and we will also take a thirty minute lunch break during the afternoon. When all components are completed, including the online pre‑work and the in‑person session, participants will earn eight Continuing Education credits. All registered attendees will receive instructions for accessing the online pre‑work and a reminder about the in‑person session. The online portion must be finished before arriving for the live training. We look forward to learning with you and strengthening our community’s ability to support youth mental health.
