White Tiger Qigong: Spring Clean Your Body, Mind & Spirit! NB The first few classes will be held indoors at Diverse-City and we will head outside as soon as the weather warms up. Outdoor Qigong in Veale Gardens - Drop-in Classes for all Levels 6 Saturday morning sessions Time: 8:45am to 10:00am Dates: 12 September to 24 October No class: Saturday 10 October Shake off winter heaviness and step into spring with energising outdoor White Tiger Qigong in the beautiful natural setting of Veale Gardens. Spring is the season of renewal, movement, growth and fresh energy. In Taoist Qigong and Chinese Medicine, spring is connected with the Wood Element, the Liver and Gallbladder meridians, flexibility, vision, emotional flow and the smooth movement of Qi. This 6 week series is designed to help you spring clean your body, mind and spirit through movement, breath, meditation and connection with nature. Each 75 minute session blends ancient Taoist Medical Qigong with modern movement science to support: • vitality • mobility • balance • posture • breath awareness • emotional steadiness • nervous system regulation • grounded wellbeing Practising outdoors adds a powerful layer to the experience. In Taoist practice, nature is not just scenery. It is part of the medicine. The trees, earth, fresh air, morning light and seasonal energy help us return to rhythm, presence and flow. What is Qigong? Qi means energy, breath or life force. Gong means skill or cultivation. Qigong is the art of cultivating energy through movement, breath, awareness and intention. White Tiger Qigong brings together ancient Taoist practice, Chinese Medicine, meridian theory and modern perspectives from sport and exercise science, fascia, breath mechanics and nervous system regulation. How can this practice support you? These sessions are designed to help you: • release winter stiffness and stagnation • feel more energised without feeling overstimulated • improve mobility, balance and coordination • calm stress and mental over-activity • support posture, breath and body awareness • feel grounded, centred and emotionally steadier • reconnect with yourself and with nature • start your weekend feeling clearer and more alive Students often report feeling calmer, lighter, clearer, more open and more energised after practice. What will we practise? Each class may include: • gentle shaking to release tension and awaken the body • meridian warm ups to support Qi flow • breathwork to regulate energy and focus the mind • standing or seated meditation • flowing Qigong forms to mobilise the spine, hips, shoulders and fascia • seasonal practices connected to spring, the Wood Element and Liver energy • selected White Tiger Qigong forms from 8 Trigram, 5 Element and 5 Animal Qigong • closing practices to settle the Qi and integrate the session Who is this for? This series is for you if you want to: • move your body in a mindful but energising way • feel looser, stronger and more alive • reduce stress and mental tension • spend more time outdoors • reconnect with your body and breath • learn Qigong in a grounded, intelligent and accessible way No previous Qigong experience is required. You are welcome to attend casually, or purchase a 3 class or 6 class pass. About your instructor You will be guided by Sarah Divine, Senior White Tiger Qigong Instructor and founder of Sarah Divine Qigong. Sarah has been practising Qigong for over 12 years and teaching since 2015. She holds a master’s degree in sport and exercise science and brings a grounded, compassionate and evidence informed approach to teaching ancient Taoist practices in a modern context. Sarah originally trained with Master Mantak Chia in the Universal Healing Tao system and has been studying with Master Tevia Feng in White Tiger Qigong since 2016. She is the most qualified White Tiger Qigong instructor in Australia. What to bring Please bring: • comfortable clothing • water • sunscreen/hat as required • layers suitable for outdoor practice The practices will be done standing but I always bring a chair or two in case anyone would prefer to sit. We train either barefoot or with flexible thin-soled shoes. Important note Qigong is a complementary wellbeing practice and is not a substitute for medical care. Please practise within your own limits, modify as needed and consult your healthcare provider if you have any serious medical concerns.
