Let author Jodie Lane walk you through the process step-by-step, using real checklists and hints to help you avoid the overwhelm. Topics include: • What's the difference between beta-reading, editing and proofreading? • Where (and how) to get a great cover and professional graphics • How to load your book to online platforms like Amazon and IngramSpark. This workshop is aimed at emerging authors who want to move from idea to sale with a plan in hand. All are welcome! BIO: Queer, autistic nerd, Jodie Lane reads and writes science fantasy, dark comedy and YA time-travel adventure. She loves finding the quirky and odd in her everyday world, and is passionate about telling authentic stories that make people feel alive. Jodie is an enthusiastic historian, combining her love of travel and adventure with fascinating stories from the past. Brisbane based, she studied a variety of modern history at the University of Queensland. Her travels have taken her all over the world: she has lived and taught English in China and Romania, backpacked through Europe and South America, and holidayed in the Middle East, Central America, South East Asia, New Zealand and South Africa. She speaks basic Spanish as a second language, is learning German, and studies Wing Chun Kung Fu. Authors & Adventure is designed for LGBTQIASB+ and neurodivergent writers seeking affirming experiences outside of cisgender heteronormative spaces.
