Chronic pain affects 1 in 5 Australians - but there is a way forward. The Pain Revolution team is coming to your community to share the latest science, practical support strategies, and real stories of recovery and hope. The 2026 Rural Outreach Tour, in its 8th year, is a not-for-profit initiative that brings together health professionals, scientists, and individuals who have lived with chronic persistent pain, to connect with communities from Tweed Heads down to Port Macquarie, NSW. We're passionate about changing the way Australia understands and responds to pain - and we believe that change starts with conversation, connection, and community. The Rural Outreach Tour also helps raise money for a Very Important Cause Chronic pain is responsible for more years lived with disability than any other health condition. But it attracts less than 5% of the funding support available for other health conditions, such as depression or diabetes. We think people living with chronic pain deserve evidence-based care and support as much as people with other diagnoses, and we think that people in rural and regional Australia shouldn’t have to miss out. These are two reasons we established Pain Revolution. We are a non-profit that trains and supports health and community workers in rural and regional communities to upskill in modern pain care - to bring expertise and support to communities. Our programs are co-designed with communities. They have won international prizes for their community focus and sustainable impact. Every rider on the Rural Outreach Tour is paying their own costs and raising money to support Pain Revolution’s programs - because they think it is a Very Important Cause.
