Sound Journey with Stephanie

An immersive 90-minute sound journey weaving meditation, resonant instruments, original music and ethereal vocals. Join me in the beautiful studio at Relinque Urban Retreat & Spa, Ivanhoe for an afternoon devoted to slowing down, listening and becoming immersed in sound. We’ll begin with a gentle guided meditation to help you arrive and settle into the space, with an optional invitation to explore simple humming and vocal sound. There is no expectation to sing or perform you are completely welcome to simply listen. From there, you’ll be invited to lie down, get comfortable and allow the sound journey to unfold around you. I’ll weave together gong, himalayan and crystal singing bowls, handpan, drum, chimes, harmonium, shruti box and other acoustic instruments, alongside original music and my own ethereal live vocals. A sound journey offers a chance to step away from everyday stimulation and spend some time simply resting and listening. The layers of sound, rhythm and voice can create a deeply absorbing experience, giving you space to slow down, become more present and enjoy sound in a different way. The journey will move through different textures, tones and periods of spaciousness before gradually becoming quieter and settling into stillness. There is nothing you need to achieve and no particular way you need to experience the session. You may close your eyes or keep them open, shift position whenever you need to, or simply rest and listen. No previous experience with meditation, sound work or singing is required. Layers and warm socks are recommended, as you may cool down while resting. You may like to bring a water bottle. Mats, bolsters and blankets will provided. Please arrive from 3:45pm to allow time to settle in. The journey will begin at 4:00pm and finish at approximately 5:30pm. Before you book The sound journey includes a range of acoustic instruments, including the gong and drum, they can become resonant and may feel intense for people who are sensitive to sound. If you have significant tinnitus or hyperacusis, sound-triggered migraines, epilepsy or a seizure disorder, have recently undergone surgery, are pregnant, or have another health condition you are unsure about, please seek appropriate medical advice before attending. All instruments are played around the room rather than directly on the body, and you are always welcome to modify your participation, sit instead of lying down, take a break or step outside briefly if needed. This session is offered as a wellbeing and relaxation experience and is not intended to replace medical, psychological or other healthcare treatment.
