Simon Tedeschi 'By Request'

SIMON TEDESCHI 'BY REQUEST' No set list. No script. No safety net. Name your composer. Tedeschi takes it from there. Bach to Beethoven, Gershwin to Scriabin — from jazz to the unexpected, the music unfolds by request. One pianist. One piano. One completely spontaneous evening. Come with a request. Leave expecting the unexpected. Simon's capacity to switch genres, improvise and freshly interpret much-loved works is widely recognised. “The piano soloist was Australian Simon Tedeschi, romantic, nonchalant, and virtuosic to suit the moment.” Dawn Brooke, Regional News, August, 2023 “stylish brilliance…totally in command of jazz idioms whether quietly intimate melodic blues style or upbeat Agitato Latin American syncopation...' Heather Leviston, Classic Melbourne, August 3, 2023 Simon Tedeschi AM is one of Australia’s most renowned classical pianists, recipient of prizes such as Symphony Australia’s Young Performer of the Year Award, the Legacy Award from the Creativity Foundation (USA), first prize in the Keyboard division of the Royal Overseas League Competition (UK), and a Centenary of Federation Medal. He has performed in major concert halls and for festivals throughout Europe, North America, Asia, and Australia, and for world leaders including former US President George W. Bush and the Dalai Lama. Concerts Across the Lawn We respect and acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of Dharawal Country, Elders past and present, and extend that respect to other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Come with family and friends and experience the joy of listening to music surrounded by nature. Watch the light fade and twilight settle in. Enjoy a nibble and a drink in one of the most unique concert spaces in the Illawarra. We provide light nibbles and drinks; feel free to bring your own supper. Chairs and rugs are available, but we encourage you to bring your own just in case. Numbers are limited to ensure that the event can go ahead regardless of the weather (usual seating is on the lawn; we move inside with rain).
