We dance without words: The dance floor is a silent space. By removing verbal conversation, we turn down the mental chatter and allow our body language to do the talking. (Quiet connection is always welcome off the dance floor (lounge areas) sounding is welcome and encouraged! 2. This is a substance-free event, natural high. We encourage no alcohol, drugs, or synthetic enhancers. 3. We dance barefoot: it's amazing. You will never want to dance in shoes again. Freeing your feet. If you desire socks that is OK too.We 💃🏻 Dance is another powerful form of medicine to heal the mind, body and soul as physical movement aids in transmuting (stuck and or stagnant) energy held within us. 🕺🏻 Matty's ethos of how he guides ecstatic dance is through the chakra system, from root to crown; the music is to activate these different parts of us and help move the energy through our being. This whole process is powerful, and when everyone in this large group allows their magic to flow, it is an unbelievable experience. This is a sober event Bring a water bottle & a yoga mat or blanket WHAT IS ECSATIC DANCE???One of the many great things about ecstatic dance is that it is free form movement and therefore everyone can do it! No matter what age, what gender, or what culture you are and no matter what actual dance experience you have ... ....none of that dictates your capacity to ecstatic dance! It's about the flow, the organic movement and the freedom to be! There is NO right way or wrong way! With the many ways we have to pre-qualify and validate our status as human beings in order to engage in life, I find it deeply liberating that there is a space that simply accepts me and you for who we are. A place for our nervous system to recoup and just move freely to amazing beautiful music in a safe welcoming environment. Bring all of you.
