A beginner friendly pole event for women ready to try something new and make a night out of it. About In Motion Been wanting to try pole but haven’t had the chance? This one’s for you. The Fold linked up with our girl Emma at Built by Movement to teach us some beginner-friendly pole skills, and of course we had to turn it into a whole night. In Motion is for women who want to try something new, move differently, meet some women and have a genuinely good time while doing it. No previous pole experience needed and no expectation that you already know what you’re doing when you walk through the door. Come ready to learn, loosen up, build a little confidence and leave knowing something you didn’t know before. Watch the class, take on your Side Quest, explore a few surprises, chat with the women beside you and enjoy the room before it’s your turn to get on the pole. Most importantly hyping up the girls. We recommend: • Shorts for better skin contact and grip on the pole • Black or pink if you want to match the In Motion vibe • Socks if you don’t want to be barefoot: shoes are removed when entering the studio One important prep note: avoid applying heavy lotions, body oils or thick creams right before the event. Pole grip relies partly on skin contact, and very moisturized or oily skin can make gripping the pole more difficult. Important to know No previous pole experience is required. In Motion is designed with first-timers in mind, and Emma will guide you through the pole portion from the beginning. Space is intentionally limited due to the number of poles available. Come alone. Bring a friend. Either way, come ready to try something new.
