Creating a Safe & Respectful School Culture: Understanding, Preventing & Responding to Bullying

Pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) are disproportionately affected by bullying and may face additional barriers to reporting concerns, accessing support and feeling a sense of belonging within their school community. This twilight CPD session will equip participants with the knowledge, understanding and practical strategies needed to create safer, more inclusive environments where all learners can thrive. Participants will examine the role of disablist language and attitudes, develop confidence in recognising and responding to bullying, and learn effective strategies for prevention, recording and intervention. The session will also consider how to embed an inclusive, proactive anti-bullying culture that promotes respect, belonging and positive outcomes for all learners. This module has been accredited by the NCFE and can be considered when working towards the NCFE Award. Participants are required to complete five modules, including the mandatory module.
