Dancing Queens: Riesling & Pinot Noir

Hosted wine tasting. Expand below for full details. Ask most people in the wine trade their favourite grape and they will likely say either Riesling or Pinot Noir. We know you agree with us at Tufnell Park as our Riesling and Pinot Noir tastings always sell out fast - pairing these titans of the fine wine world in one tasting, we expect a frenzy! Why do we find these grapes so seductive? They both have fine acidity that requires impeccable balance (like ballerinas) and they are both said to be the ultimate translators of their terroir (like interpretative dancers). From the fine wine regions of the Mosel Valley in Germany, Alsace and Burgundy in France and further afield in the so-called ‘New World’, we have also fallen in love with their aromatic intensity. Flowers, rocks, earth and an entire spice rack from the candied ginger of Riesling to the cloves and nutmeg of Pinot Noir will all be dancing on the tasting table. A feast for the senses this Autumn, not to be missed! Our shop tastings start at 7.30pm and run for approximately one-and-a-half to two hours. We will taste 6-8 wines on a theme, and bread, cheese and charcuterie is provided to match with the wines. Due to the communal nature of the tasting, we are unable to cater for dietary requirements.
