Fire Reflection • Silent Walk to Lumsdale Falls • Shared Meal Around the Fire About This Event This gathering forms part of the Healing in Nature Project, a community wellbeing programme funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, supporting men's wellbeing through nature, meaningful connection and reflective practice. Following our journey through the King, Warrior, Magician and Lover archetypes, we now begin exploring what it really means to live as the man we are beneath the roles, expectations and identities we carry every day. Every man wears masks. Some are shaped by childhood, others through relationships, responsibility, work or simply the need to survive. Over time we become the man who always keeps it together, the provider who carries everyone else's burdens, the one who never asks for help, the joker who hides behind humour or the man who believes showing emotion makes him weak. The truth is that many of these masks once protected us. They helped us navigate difficult moments and become who we needed to be at the time. The challenge comes when those same masks continue to shape our lives long after they are no longer needed. What once protected us can begin to distance us from ourselves, from the people we love and from the life we genuinely want to live. This evening is not about removing those masks or judging the ways we have learned to cope. It is an invitation to notice them with compassion, to understand where they came from and to gently explore whether they still serve the man we are becoming. Change rarely begins through force. More often, it begins through awareness, honesty and the courage to be seen. Brotherhood and Intentional Space At the heart of every Path of the Masculine Heart gathering is brotherhood. Modern life gives men very few opportunities to gather with genuine intention. We spend much of our lives around other men through work, sport or everyday life, yet rarely do we find ourselves in spaces where we can simply arrive without needing to perform, compete or pretend that everything is okay. This is one of those spaces. Around the fire, on the woodland paths and over a shared meal, we create an environment where honesty is valued more than image and presence matters more than perfection. The evening is guided by conversation and reflection, but this is not a workshop or a lecture. It is simply an opportunity to slow down, reconnect with ourselves and spend time alongside other men who are also trying to live with greater authenticity. One of the most powerful things we can experience is being witnessed without judgement. When one man finds the courage to speak honestly, it often gives another permission to do the same. We begin to realise that many of the struggles we believed we carried alone are shared by others. That is where brotherhood begins. Not through fixing one another, but through listening, respect and simply being present. The evening will be facilitated by Azim Nobeebaccus, founder of Moksha Holistic Therapies CIC. Drawing on years of experience in holistic wellbeing, trauma informed practice and traditional healing, Azim creates grounded, welcoming spaces where men can slow down, reconnect with themselves and build genuine relationships with others. His approach is gentle and conversational, encouraging reflection without pressure and creating an environment where every man is free to participate in the way that feels right for him. The Evening Journey We begin around the fire, reflecting together on the masks we wear and the stories behind them. Through gentle conversation we will explore the roles we have adopted throughout our lives, what they have protected us from, what they may have cost us and what authenticity could look like as we move into the next chapter of our lives. From there we make our way on a mostly silent walk through the beautiful woodland of Lumsdale Valley. In a world filled with constant noise, silence has become something of a rare gift. Walking together in nature offers space to slow down, breathe deeply and simply notice what arises. Rather than searching for answers, we allow nature to become part of the conversation as we carry a single reflective question with us towards the waterfall. Returning to the fire, we share a simple communal meal together. Sharing food has always been one of humanity's oldest ways of building trust and strengthening community. It creates space for conversation to unfold naturally and for relationships to deepen without effort. As darkness begins to settle, we gather once more around the fire to close the evening, reflecting on what we may be ready to leave behind and what qualities we wish to strengthen as we continue our own journey. There is never any pressure to speak. Listening can be just as meaningful as sharing.
