About this event

Passeggiata consapevole a Venezia ispirata allo shinrin-yoku giapponese con immersione sensoriale.

Full description from organizer

• Meeting point : Monumento a Giosuè Carducci, Giardini della Biennale • 👥 Partecipanti: massimo 15 persone • 📝 Prenotazione obbligatoria – partecipazione gratuita • 🗣️ Lingue: italiano, inglese e spagnolo Chi è Matteo Vegetti? ----------------------------------------- IN ENGLISH Mindful walk in Venice Inspired by Japanese shinrin-yoku (forest bathing), this experience uses sensory immersion to enhance presence to oneself, the body, and the surrounding environment. The “city bathing” practice transposes these principles to Venice: a guided walk punctuated by sensory explorations, moments of contemplation or meditation, and more playful group activities. The aim is to transform our perception of the city by developing a more refined attention and a direct connection to the living world within the urban space. This approach also invites participants to integrate these states of presence into daily life, in a context often marked by stress and disconnection. Venice becomes a living field of experience to explore a more conscious relationship with the city—between beauty, fragility, and contemporary challenges. • Meeting point : Monumento a Giosuè Carducci, Giardini della Biennale • Schedule: Sunday 22 November, 3-5 pm BONUS TIME: Those who wish and are able to stay beyond 5 pm will have the opportunity to put into practice what they have learned during the workshop, walking with Matteo Vegetti to a nearby, busier area. The key question will be: “How can I maintain presence and connection amidst a crowd of people?” This optional session will last between 30 and 60 minutes. • Participants: 15 people • Registration required, free admission • Languages: Italian, English, Spanish Matteo Vegetti is a Forest Bathing guide (Forest Therapy Hub), an environmental hiking guide (AIGAE) and an integrative therapist (Instituto Carl Rogers). He holds a degree in Philosophy and lives primarily in Spain, while frequently working in Italy. He co-authored a scientific study on the benefits of Forest Bathing in collaboration with the TESAF and DPG departments of the University of Padua, where he also teaches on the INTRECCI advanced training programme. He is the founder of Società Selvatica (Instagram: @societa_selvatica), a non-profit association that organises the Cansiglio InVita Festival in collaboration with the University of Padua. He also serves as the festival’s artistic director. Società Selvatica is part of the Planetary Health Alliance, a global network of organisations promoting planetary health, and the WIN Research Centre at the University of Padua, which advances scientific research into the connections between nature and well-being. Drawing on decades of research and experience at the intersection of thought, body, spirit, art and nature, Matteo Vegetti has found that cultivating awareness and a deeper connection with nature offers a path towards promoting the health and well-being of both people and the planet.
