Waking Our Wild Selves- Honoring the Full Moon

Honoring the lunar cycle through a night of wildcrafting, ritual, fire and storytelling. Waking our Wild Selves The old stories didn’t ask us for perfection, they asked us for our participation, our attention and our awe. Join us for an afternoon/evening devoted to the September full moon, woven with ritual, ancestral technology, story, mystery and a good dose of mischief (we like a good laugh). We will gather as a community on incredible wild land, beside a lake and rekindle our deep belonging to the land, water, cosmos and the whole living web. Together we will explore: • Ritual and celebration • Fire by friction & Fire cooking • Cordage. weaving & wildcrafting • Storytelling, Song & Poetry • Somatic & Embodiment Practices • Night swimming & adventuring (for those who dare....) Land Acknowledgment We acknowledge that we gather on the traditional homelands of the Shawnee and Cherokee nations.While federal removal policies historically forced these tribes from their ancestral lands, their connection to this region remains unbroken. We honor both the history of their ancestors and the Indigenous people and communities who continue to live, work, and enrich our region today. We pay our respects to elders past, present, and emerging, and commit to remembering the true history of this land. Who We Are Brought to you by the Narrative Animal team of wilderness guides, storytellers, and somatic practitioners from Australia. Yonke- Previous Alone contestant, Yonke brings a wealth of lived experience in bushcraft, fibre arts, and earth-based ceremony. She is especially passionate about guiding others to reconnect with ancestral skills and the rhythms of the natural world, inviting people to slow down, listen, and remember their place in the great web of life. Adam- Adam is a writer, strategist, IFS & somatic coach, and an internal wilderness guide.He weaves myth and movement through all his work and challenges others to engage more deeply with life. He was not a participant on Alone (there really is only one Yonke) Anna- Anna is a writer, wilderness guide and systems dreamer and has been living nomadically for over a decade. She is the author of Do Wildness (see below). Her work explores the meeting place of ecology, mythology and settler inheritance, asking what it means to live in right relationship in a time of unravelling. These event series are part of the book tour in the States of the new book Do: Wildness by Anna McCracken The Finer Details: Once you book your spot, we will send you specific location and more logistics specific to the day including a flow of timing, so you know what it will look and feel like. Weekend Info Arrival: 2pm on the 27th of September (if you want to camp with us you are most welcome, let us know) Departure: 10pm on the 27th of September *Camping is optional *Attending the afternoon is also optional- please reach out with your timing needs. Dinner (cooked on the fire), cacao, tea and mead will be offered Please BYO snacks and breakfast (if camping with us) Accomodation is camping: BYO tent and bedding etc. There are toilets onsite. Please let us know any access needs you might have. Where We will be gathering on private property near Leesburg. The exact address will be sent out to those attending. Who is this for? This is for anyone who wants to feel connected, nourished on land in community as we honour our wild selves, inside and out. No previous experience in anything needed, everyone will be welcomed into our circle.
