Building Boundaries Just In Time For The Holidays: A Workshop

For everyone who dreads the family gathering: stop biting your tongue and build the boundaries that let you actually enjoy the holidays. Pass the potatoes. Hold the resentment. For most of us, that’s been the holiday plan for years. Thanksgiving is in eight days. You already know who’s going to comment on your plate, ask why you’re still single, or “just ask a question” that isn’t a question. Most of us were taught that being a good person, a good partner, a good friend, a good employee means keeping the peace. Swallow it. Smile. Deal with it later. Later never comes, and the resentment piles up. That isn’t kindness. It’s self-abandonment with good manners. In this workshop we’ll get clear on what a boundary actually is (and what it isn’t), why “it’s just how they are” isn’t a reason to keep taking it, and why the people who taught you not to say no are usually the hardest ones to say it to. You’ll leave with language you can actually use: at the dinner table, at work, in your relationship, and with yourself. No scripts to memorize. No perfect version. Just practice.
