Adult mental health symptoms may be indicative of someone who never fully psychologically developed beyond the age they first experienced trauma. This insightful course explores what we know about trauma and how it presents in people’s lives. It will assist participants to better understand the trauma experience and equip them to provide more appropriate and empathetic services. Topics include: • The nature of trauma • Critical incidents • ASD and PTSD • Recognising symptoms • Complex vs single-incident trauma • Avoiding re-traumatisation • Understanding adaptive symptoms • Working with trauma: Principles, Screening, Treatments, Care This course includes: • Engaging, up-to-date materials. • Take-home resource package. • All day catering and beverages - with dietary needs catered for. • Certificate of attendance.
